Second Fall 2012 Foray Announcement

ARIZONA MUSHROOM CLUB

A Second MUSHROOM FORAY to the White Mountains has been scheduled for Sept 1-2, 2012. We will meet Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 am at the Safeway Store parking lot in Springerville. Please be prompt as stragglers often miss out on the days foray. We will disband after the Sunday lunch for a return to the valley.

Bring lunch, beverages and water for both days. Suggested additional items are; picnic chairs, hat, rain gear, mosquito repellant, small paper lunch bags to keep specimens separate, collecting bags or baskets, mushroom books, soft bristle brush, soft rags, collecting knife, walking stick, compass or GPS, whistle, camera and other provisions for use as needed.

If you stay at the Rode Inn and you are with the Arizona Mushroom Club tell them you want the special rate. Have them confirm this; otherwise you are free to call a different motel if you wish.

For those people camping out, be sure to reserve camping space at Rainbow, Cutthroat, or Grayling campsites via computer at “recreation.gov” or call 888-448-1474 and give the name of the campground at Big Lake AZ so you can pick a number for your spot from the site map. A user fee per night per family is charged. A nightly fee is charged for holders of a Golden Age Passport (a 50% discount). Computer applications are available to fill out and will be confirmed within 24-48 hours.

There will be a recap + social hour (BYOB & snacks) after Fridays Scouting and Saturdays Foray. It will be held on the balcony of the Rode Inn at approximately 6:00 pm on Friday and Saturday evening. Plan to join us there, one or both evenings, for good conversations among fellow mushroomers.

After the recap, Club members usually gather at the restaurant of their choice. Don’t forget to check the Voice Mail 602-230-5281 for any updates.
