Mushroom Dye Workshops from Mycopigments.com

Knitters, weavers and other crafts-oriented folks, you may want to take a look at the mushroom dyes shown on the Mycopigments.com website.  It’s not widespread knowledge, but fungi and lichens can be used to create some really beautiful natural dyes for wool and other textiles.  Those abominable Cortinarius that seem to be everywhere in our forests in August are among the most prized types sought out by mushroom dyers.

If this is something that interests you, check their calendar of upcoming workshops.  For us Arizona folks, they will be at the Telluride Mushroom Festival (Shroomfest) in August, and at several sites in California later in the year.
