Last night at the Arizona Herb Association meeting in Phoenix, the Arizona Mushroom Club’s Amy Eichsteadt gave an hour-long presentation about fungi that was very well-attended and well-received. She started with the basic biology and taxonomy of the fungal kingdom and moved on to all the ways they interact with human culture, finishing up with some gorgeous photographs of the native species to be found in Arizona.
A number of familiar faces from the Mushroom Club were there, and together with the large and inquisitive Arizona Herb Association crowd, it was practically standing room only. Amy kindly gave a plug for the Arizona Mushroom Forum web page, and we’ve noticed quite a spike of hits from new users last night and today, so it looks like she has successfully sparked some interest in the topic. Good job Amy!
