Happy thoughts coming our way from the weather gnomes at the NOAA Climate Prediction Center. They believe the 2014 monsoon will be a wet one in northern and eastern Arizona, and begin with a splash around the 4th of July weekend. Right on schedule!
Here are three charts showing their predictions for the July 3-9 period, the entire month of July, and the entire three months of July/August/September, respectively. I hope this proves more accurate than the U.S. Navy prediction from a few weeks ago.
Yay! We’ll be up in the White Mtns (Nutrioso / Alpine area) Jul 2-8 and will keep you posted on rain activity.
How’d it go, Ed? Looked like a fair bit of rainfall on the precipitation maps. Gary Melgaard thought the area around Big Lake got something in the neighborhood of three inches.
