(Savor the Southwest)

Found a new blog that is sure to appeal to many of our readers: Savor the Southwest: Forage, Raise, Cook.

They have many interesting, well-illustrated articles about the native plants and animals that sustained the inhabitants of the Southwest in the days before supermarkets and refrigeration, and the way they were used in the local cuisine. You’ll find everything from beekeeping to saguaro fruit harvesting to authentic enchilada recipes.

Along these same lines, you might also like to check out Desert Harvesters, the Arizona Native Plant Society, the Arizona Ethnobotanical Research Society, the Arizona Herb Society, and the Desert Botanical Garden.
